In part 4 of this series on achieving MAXIMUM WEALTH, I will cover another important subject that you don’t want to miss if you are serious about achieving your full potential in life. If you missed part 3, you can read it here. Today’s topic is risk, and how the successful people of the world use risk to their advantage, while the less successful people self-destruct when faced with the possibility of taking risks.
The Way You View Risk
Allow me to be very straightforward with you: if you don’t start to embrace risk, you are not going to go very far in life and in your business. Sure, you can still live a satisfying life, but you will never reach your full potential. Successful people understand this important principle, while those who are not successful are doomed because they see risk as their enemy.
Knowledge Is Key
The major reason the successful people of the world do not fear risk is the fact that they know they have the required knowledge to take calculated risks. Mediocre people live in constant fear of taking risks because they don’t work on growing their mind. Thus, with limited knowledge, those who refuse to take risks are crippled by their fears.
What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
People who don’t take risks mainly do so because they always expect that the worst is going to happen. They think to themselves: “What if I invest in this business idea and it doesn’t work out? I will lose my investment.” They never stop to consider that perhaps everything will go right and they will enjoy the success they never thought possible.
The key to solving this dilemma is to invest what you can afford to lose, and then just go for it, knowing that the rewards will outweigh the risks. If you continue to stop yourself because you expect the worst, then you will always live a limited existence.
Overcome The Fear Of Failure
Most people who don’t achieve much in life do so because they have an unhealthy fear of failure. In many cases, these same people have at some point taken some kind of risk, but after being confronted with failure, they decide that they will never feel the sting of failure again.
This is a big mistake. What these people fail to understand is what successful people know: failure is essential in the journey towards victory. Examine any field you want and you will notice that most people who achieved something great failed many times along the way. Failure allows you to grow and learn from your mistakes, and this takes you to new, exciting levels.
Overcome The Fear Of Rejection
The next fear that stops people from taking risks is the fear of rejection. It seems that most people would rather be popular with their close circle of friends and family than be successful. The truth is that you can’t please everyone, and it is useless to even try.
You have to stop caring what other people think. These people are not going to pay your bills or give a better life to your children. You must block out their negativity and just take action in the pursuit of your dreams, even at the threat of upsetting some people and losing their friendship along the way. No one said that success didn’t come at a price
Overcome The Fear Of Loss
The next fear you must overcome is the fear of loss. Most people want to protect what little they have, and so they remain inert, unwilling to disrupt the safety of their small possessions. This kind of scarcity mindset will keep you broke.
Who cares if you lose what you can quickly get back anyways? Instead of protecting your scarce belongings, why not take huge risks and dramatically multiply what you have? You have an opportunity to escape the prison of scarcity and enter the freedom of great abundance.
Live With No Regrets
As morbid as this might sound, the truth is that we are all going to end up inside of a grave. What are you holding back for? This is like a boxer who knows he or she is losing the fight and knows there is only one round left. Why hold back if he or she knows he or she is going to lose? Why not go down fighting? Why not take big risks to perhaps claim victory?
I don’t want you to end up at the end of your life filled with regrets at what could have been. I want to challenge you to live every day with a sense of urgency. Live every day like it’s your last. Take big risks and transform your life today.
