In part two of this series on how to develop maximum efficiency, I will give you 4 more tips that will enable you to multiply your productivity and efficiency in an exciting manner. If you missed part 1, you can read it here.
Avoid Displacement Activities
The first tip is to avoid displacement activities. To get to the point, displacement activities are activities that will not lead directly to profits in your business. The only thing that is going to generate profits is talking to people or getting traffic to your site. Anything else is a displacement activity.
So, if you are reading a book or checking your email during times that you should be driving traffic to your website or during a time that you should be making phone calls in your business, you are, sadly, participating in displacement activities. The more you avoid this type of activities, the more efficient you will be.
Say No To All Distractions
When you are operating a business, it takes a lot of discipline to say no to distractions, but this is exactly what you must do. Most of these distractions will present themselves in the form of people who will want to talk to you or hang out with you when you know you should be working on your business.
It might sound harsh, but if you want to be efficient, you have to learn to tell these people “no”. You can always talk to them once your workday is done, but while you know you should be working, participating in small-talk with others is going to be a terrible use of your time. So, just learn to say no and you will become more efficient.
Work On The Hardest Tasks First
Most inefficient people get in the habit of working on all of their easiest and less profitable tasks first. You, on the other hand, must force yourself to do the opposite. You need to get the most difficult tasks out of the way first.
If you leave the most difficult and important tasks for last you will lack the energy to be as efficient as you need to be. Therefore, take advantage of the superior energy you have at the beginning of the day to finish the most valuable tasks first and you will enjoy a more successful business.
Make A Complete List
The fourth and last tip that I will give you in this post is to make one complete list of your daily tasks at the beginning of your day. This will help you avoid going back and forth between checking your email and completing new tasks, something which will lead to a waste of valuable time. If you have to check your email to find tasks, just check it once, write everything down, shut down your email and get to work. This is way more efficient than the alternative.
These 4 tips are time-proven principles that the most efficient people in business implement into their daily lives. Being efficient is a way of life, and the more efficient you become, the quicker you will reach your objectives in your business. Human beings can be like machines who continue to improve if they choose to do so. You will be amazed at the things you will be able to accomplish as you develop MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY.
