In part 2 of this powerful series, I will cover 3 more internet marketing mistakes that many aspiring internet marketers make which prevents them from achieving the kind of results they desire. If you missed part 1 you can read it here. It is crucial that you stop yourself from making these costly internet marketing mistakes.
Failing To Right Effective Copy
The attention span of people in general is shrinking every day, so your goal is to get your prospects and visitors to take action as soon as they land on your site. You will not be able to accomplish this if the written material is poorly written. Yes, you can certainly have a headline which says, “Welcome To My Site”, but this kind of dull headline is not going to inspire anyone to do anything.
Therefore, it is essential that you avoid using boring language. In order to get a better idea of how to write effective direct response copy, I highly recommend that you look for other websites that deal with the market you are dealing with. Specifically examine the sites that mostly stand out to you. Use these sites as a template that will enable you to write more attention-grabbing and action-inducing content.
Neglecting To Build A List
The next mistake that many new marketers make is neglecting to build a permission based e-mail list. For example, most new internet marketers start to promote a generic affiliate website without realizing that it is more effective to capture your visitors’ name and e-mail address before you send them to the affiliate offer.
If you plan to develop a long-term internet business, it is imperative that you work all of the time on building a list. The fastest way to get people to give you their contact information is to offer them some type of free gift, such as a free report with useful information in exchange for their name and e-mail. Once you start building a list, your main objective is to provide value to your list before you even start to sell them anything.
Not Having A Traffic Strategy
The final mistake you must avoid is to fail to develop an effective traffic generating strategy. Don’t fall for the trap of savvy internet marketers who will try to convince you that there is some magical formula to get thousands of visitors to your site overnight. There is no such magic formula.
The reality is that, if you want to generate consistent traffic to your site, you need to use proven traffic generating strategies such as pay-per-click, solo ads, article marketing, forum marketing, blogging and many others. By setting up a written plan of action which involves different methods working together, you will be able to generate the targeted traffic you need.
Work on your copy writing skills so that you can get your visitors to take immediate action. Always remember to work on building your list which you can market to long-term. Also, create a traffic generating plan which includes the implementation of proven traffic techniques. Never fall into the trap of making the mistakes I have listed here.
