On my last blog post I shared with you 10 powerful tips to become a social media marketing superstar. Today, I am going to give you 10 more tips which will allow you to take your social media marketing campaigns to the next level.
Tip #1: Give Predictions
I see this in politics and sports often: political or sports commentators giving predictions. Now, granted, most of the time these pundits get their predictions wrong, but the few who get them mostly right or more correct than their contemporaries raise their public profile dramatically. I don’t know what kind of industry you are in, but by getting predictions right about your industry you will build a credibility with your audience that will be hard to top.
Tip #2: Improve The Status Quo
The next tip is to find content that is highly relevant in your industry and, not only share it, but also find ways to improve upon it. This will signal to your audience that you are bold and fearless, willing to add your powerful 2 cents to any topic.
Tip #3: Be A Contrarian
People get quickly bored when everyone agrees on everything. You always need a contrarian to spice things up. This is where you come in. Why always go with the flow when you can be a little controversial and contradict what most are saying. This will make you interesting and unique. Obviously, you don’t want to abuse this, so make sure you really do oppose the viewpoint you are contradicting. This will make you seem genuine and trustworthy. Also, remember to write a blog post on your opposing views, always making sure you provide a link to that post.
Tip #4: Announce Recalls And Give Ugly Reviews
Make sure you stay on top of developments within your industry by announcing any product recalls as soon as they occur. This will make you seem like a reliable source of all the latest information. Also, provide reviews about products in your industry, especially if they are negative reviews. Better yet, after you post a negative review on a product, provide your own recommendation (it could be your own product or a product for which you are an affiliate).
Tip #5: Give Your Opinion On Trending Topics
Pretty much all significant social media platforms show you what news or topics are currently trending. When topics trend it is because the masses are paying attention to these. So, what you want to do is write a blog post giving your opinion on the trending news of the moment, subsequently providing a link to such post. This will make you seem fresh and hip.
Tip #6: Fact Or Fiction
People love multiple choice questions. The fact or fiction model works great. Give an interesting statement about a particular subject, and then ask your audience if they believe it is fact or fiction. Your audience will love this level of engagement.
Tip #7: Ask A Question, Then Provide An Answer
Ask a question that will be of interest to your audience, then link to a blog post you wrote where you provide a detailed answer. Obviously, you don’t want to give them the answer in the social media post; this will defeat the purpose, which is to get people to your site.
Tip #8: Offer Them A Teaser Of Your Post
Rather than just giving them a link to your latest blog post, why not give them a teaser few sentences pulled directly from your blog post? This will make them want to click on the link so that they can get the full story.
Tip #9: The Half Image Trick
Use an image, but rather than giving them the full image, use some form of application to hide half the image, and tell them that if they want to see the full image, they have to click on the link that leads to your blog post.
Tip #10: Give Them A Self Revealing Quiz
Finally, you want to give your audience quizzes that tell them more about themselves. Examples could be: “Take this short, interactive quiz to find out how much you know about the latest trends,” or “Take this entertaining quiz to discover what type of personality you are.” You get the point.
These 10 tips can vastly improve your social media marketing campaigns. Select a few, or all, and apply them on a consistent basis. Over time, you will see your presence on social media greatly expand, and along with this your business will also grow exponentially.
